How to stop the madness in CBSD: Your voter's guide for restoring sanity
Follow these 3 steps so we can all sleep at night again
Listen closely… hear that? It’s the sound of your property value dropping thanks to the parade of lunatics who have happily made themselves the poster children for our school district lately. (Yeah, that headline above is about Central Bucks. To read more about the rise of extremism in Bucks County, please see NoQinBucks.com.)
People used to move here because of the school district. Now we’re a laughingstock.
How do we make it stop? Vote on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
But here’s the thing: voting for the school board is more confusing than it should be. It’s easy to get it wrong. Here’s what you need to know.
1. Find your region
Find your region by clicking on this map. Tip: Enlarge the map to find your neighborhood. The key on the left side of the page will tell you whether the seat for your region is on the ballot or not.
Regions 1, 2, 3, and 6 are not on the ballot this time.
2. See who’s running
Go to Vote411 and enter your address. You’ll be served up a ballot with all of the offices up for grabs on Nov. 2.
If there’s a seat on the ballot in your region, you can click through to see the candidates and learn more about them - that is, if they bothered to fill out the questionnaire. (Dan Ring was appointed to his current seat, so maybe he feels OK phoning in? Who can say?)
3. Back these candidates
Choosing a candidate for school board has never been easier. The two options in every CBSD region are so diametrically opposed that it should be a no-brainer to decide which candidate to back.
If you’re ready to restore sense and decorum to our school board, you can safely vote for any of these candidates. That’s the easy answer.
If you want to know more about any of these fine people, click on their bios on the Neighbors United page and learn more about them. Follow them on Facebook to see what they’re about.
Then VOTE!
One last thing!
This election is critical to determining the direction of our schools and our community. If this matters to you, please consider sharing some variation of the following message on your social media:
Friends in CBSD: On Nov. 2, I’ll be voting for NAME to help restore sanity and dignity to our school district. I hope you’ll join me. You can learn more about NAME here: https://www.cbsdneighborsunited.com/
Yes, talking about politics can be awkward. Just keep in mind that people who love and respect you may value your opinion. People who haven’t been paying close attention may value some guidance. You never know who you may be influencing.
Let’s get this done! See you on Nov. 2.
